I recently went to an event and there I got a can of Rio Mare tuna and stored it away. I was preparing lunch the other day and as I was craving tuna salad, out came the can of Rio Mare. Hooray! And whoop whoop, I had a moment of inspiration. I decided not to make my standard tuna salad, but go for some out of the box thinking. Which resulted in this piece of a beauty! I love it, and the BF loved it even more.
I think it would be perfect for lunch or as a snack for a party. I would then serve it in little cups made out of wonton sheets. Oh and good to know, all cans of Rio Mare tuna have a Certified Sustainable Seafood certification, which means the tuna population in the sea is monitored closely.
1 can of Tuna
3 TBsp of Mayonaise
Pinch of salt
2 tsp of Sriracha sauce
1 Spring onion – sliced green part only
Toasted sesame seeds
Drain the tuna and make sure most of the liquid is gone.
Place the tuna in a bowl and add in mayonaise and season with pepper and a pinch of salt.
Mix in sriracha and taste. If you want more spiciness add more to your taste.
Once you’ve seasoned your tuna, make sure to sprinkle some spring onions and sesame seeds on top.
We had the spicy tuna with a lovely a piece of toast! What a revelation!
