Normally I don’t get really personal here, but today I am making a little exception. As you’ve noticed its been a little quiet here in the past week or two. There was a reason for that, but I am not going to talk about that today. It did however kept lingering in my mind, so I am writing about it, not in detail, but more about the things in life that are important to me.

Eventually it all comes down to pretty simple, but very essential things in life. Health, living day by day and surrounding yourself with people that mean a lot to you and care for you. It got me thinking, what does it do with me when someone is having a problem or trouble comes your way. Most of the times, it means that I go in my caring and nurturing mode. I want to spend as much time as possible together, talk for hours and try to make them something they love to eat.

Whenever something emotional happens, it is important to me to spend as much time together, but also spoil with some good food. After being offline for more than a week, I was thinking to myself yesterday that is was time to get going on the blog again. They don’t say “When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade” for nothing, so we are going to try to make the best of it. In the mean time, I am spending a lot of time together, cooking good food and spoiling the people around me. That’s why I thought it would be perfect to share my recipe of a Lemonade with you guys.

Love yourself, but don’t forget to share that love with the people that are around you. How do you guys spoil the ones around you that need it?
xoxo

Recipe for Lemonade inspired by Nadia en Merijn

Ingredients
5 lemons

100 gr Sugar
Cold Water
Ice cubes
[Optional Mint leafs]

Method
Wash your lemons and rub them well  on the outside to clean them.
Take a bowl and cut up your lemons in two.

Add the sugar in a big bowl and kneed your lemons and squeeze out the juice.
Do this for about 5 minutes (a minute per lemon)
You do this to get the flavor out.
Let it sit for about 15 minutes in the fridge.
Add in ice cold water according to your taste.
If it needs more sugar, now is the time to taste and add in if necessary.
Something to change the flavor a little is by adding in some mint leafs. So refreshing!
