Salsa Shop // Our sweet friends M+A who are in NL for a holiday wanted to meet up for lunch. As they can have the best asian [street] food at home I thought it would be nice to have something that was different: Mexican food! Yes, you read it right, as there is a new kid in Amsterdam town. Salsa shop just opened their doors in july and they are popular as peep.
4 young friends joint forces and came up with this brilliant idea of serving people good food, but hen fast! Freshly made, quick Mexican meals with the tastiest & most natural ingredients, served in an open and friendly environment. The food you choose is tailored to your liking.
On the menu, which they worked on closely for two months with Mexican Chef Sandra Tejeda, you’ll find a daily produce of burritos, burrito bowls, soft tacos or salads. Next up you can decide what filling you want and then of course S A L S A time. They have 6 salsas you can choose from. My favorite is the smokey pineapple chipotle! Oh and on the table they are the first in NL to serve your food with the amazing sauces from Cholula.
Oh and lets not forget about the amazing drinks, including one kick ass frozen Margarita!
You can either sit there at the Salsa shop and enjoy the food, water their cactus or go for take out and enjoy the food at home. Owner Louis [pictured above] promised me there would be a second shop later this year. Sounds good to me!

Jep, ziet er goed uit! Wat is dat toch met dat Mexicaanse eten….fijn hoe fris het altijd oogt en smaakt (wanneer je tenminste bij de juiste zaak bent). Kook het thuis ook altijd graag voor mensen: de ideale manier om heel makkelijk iets moois te presenteren, en voor mijzelf een makkelijke manier om toch vlees te serveren zonder dat het voor mijzelf teveel wordt. Leuke tip!
