Baked sausages, Bill Granger style

I can’t even remember when we first started cooking from Bill Grangers recipes, but we love his simplicity and good food. Its been numerous times we’ve eaten this dish and its definitely a keeper here in our household. 

The last time we made it, we used nice sausages from Brandt & Levie. We will talk about them in another blogpost another time 😉

If you want to have a nice meal, not too complicated, this is your go to dish! Oh and did I mention its a perfect dish if your low on budget. Some bangers, bread and potatoes. Doesn’t all have to be super complicated to be damn tasty!

Baked Italian Sausages with potatoes and rosemary by Bill Granger – Serves 4 people

Ingredients
8 Italian sausages, the better the quality, the better the dish
800 gr potatoes e.g. roseval, washed
1 Ciabatta bread ( I buy mine at the Albert Heijn), crust removed
2 rosemary stalks
Freshly ground pepper
Salt to taste
1.5 tsp of Paprika powder
Hand full of Basil leaves
Olive oil

Method
Preheat the oven to 200 °C.
First slice the sausages and the potatoes in similar sized smaller pieces.
In a roasting pan, mix 2 TBsp of olive oil together with the sausages, potatoes, rosemary and the paprika powder.
Bake everything for about 20 minutes or until the potatoes and sausages are cooked.
Add the ciabatta cubes, drizzle some olive oil and put everything back in the oven for about 10 minutes.
When your bread has this nice golden brown color and is crispy, your good to go.
The last thing you need to do is top it all with some shredded basil leaves.
We eat this meal accompanied by a simple salad dressed with some balsamico vinegar and olive oil.
